Description

Responsible for the accounting and financial reporting activities, including invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. Actively participates as an integral member of the Finance team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Responsible for the accounting (day-to-day) operations and period-end closing process.
Supervise invoicing, accounts receivable and processing General Ledger accounting and timely account analysis and reconciliations.
Monitor/Report Capital Project Spending and own related Fixed Asset System.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including, but not limited to tax.
Ensure compliance with US General Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and where applicable International Finance Reporting Standards (“IFRS”)
Maintain strong internal control environment and utilize best practices.
Manage operational data and ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Working with Finance Director, Director of Sales and Marketing, and Project Management Teams, responsible for developing and maintaining a robust revenue billing/tracking system which monitors actual and forecasted performance and is in compliance with latest Revenue Recognition standards. Revenue system should also support profitability analysis. During this analysis, work with Finance Director to implement standard costing system for identified product lines.

Responsible for preparing financial statements and reports, including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements in monthly Consolidation (COGNOS).
Responsible for supplying reports and analysis to functional departments and supporting them in managing/controlling spending and maintaining profitability. (SAP)
Analyze operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole Company, and determine their financial impact.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget timeline and preparing necessary information to support approval of the annual budget.

Establishes and/or recommends to management controls, strategies, and/or policies to monitor or control company spending.

Responsible for preparing information necessary to fulfill Group Finance and Governmental requests and requirements.
Monthly COGNOS reporting
P&L Forecasts, typically quarterly
Monthly account reconciliations
Support Internal and External Audit Requests
Governmental Reports, such as Census and DOL reports

Researches, investigates, establishes and/or recommends improvements and/or different methods of accounting policies and procedures.
Special projects and/or additional tasks as may be assigned.

Support an Environment of Continuous Improvement and Process Change. Comfortable in not only identifying improvements but leading organization through process changes.

Qualifications

Bachelors’ Degree (B.S. in Finance or Accounting required) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and/or MBA desirable.
5-7 years of experience in Accounting, Experience in Public Accounting preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication is required to communicate with the team, peers, management and external contacts.
Excellent technology skills, including proficiency with Excel and strong working knowledge of SAP, database applications and other Microsoft Office Products, such as Word, Project and Power Point.

Language Skills:
Strong ability to read, write and comprehend the English language, read and interpret legal and technical documents, and write routine correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the company. Good interpersonal skills.

Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of ERP systems is required, with SAP R3 experience a highly desirable advantage. Experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Access and Project desirable. Knowledge of COGNOS is preferred.
