The Senior Accountant will handle a variety of general accounting and financial reporting activities including cash management, inventory accounting, journal entry posting, financial reporting, analytical analysis, budget analysis, quarterly reviews and year end audit support activities, state sales and payroll tax filings and other general accounting activities. They will have contact with all departments of the company as well as with customers and vendors.
In addition, they will support the Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller, Director of FP&A and CFO in preparing and filing SEC reporting requirements. This individual will also develop departmental goals and consistently evaluate financial systems and workflow to ensure accounting activities are performed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Respond to all inquiries promptly with professionalism and accuracy.
Demonstrate strong customer focus and commitment to quality.
Follow all policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Perform account analysis and reconciliations.
Reconcile cash accounts with bank statements.
Register with states and process sales tax filings.
Maintain accountability for inventory transactions and reconcile to physical inventory.
Work with outside payroll service to ensure the company is properly registered for payroll tax filings
Assist Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller and CFO in preparing SEC reporting packages.
Perform comparative analysis of financial statements to support and assist Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller, Director of FP&A and CFO.
Obtain and maintain thorough understanding of the general ledger structure.
Monitor and analyze department workflow to identify opportunities for improvement.
Respond to inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting.
Develop training plans for new and existing staff members.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
4 - 6 yrs. accounting experience including 2 yrs. public accounting experience preferred.
CPA preferred.
Advanced MS Excel skills required.
Technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Experience working with Accounting ERP systems.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
