Description

Summary
The Director of Finance develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control. He/She plans and directs the accounting activities for an organization. Function as the financial business partner to the Division President and executive team in developing and implementing the division strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
? Prepare financial analysis to determine present and future fiscal performance, such as costs and revenues.
? Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
? Evaluate complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
? Issue financial statements.
? Prepare studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
? Interpret and apply corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting theory.
? Recommend and drive cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability
improvement strategies.
? Develop budget, planning, as well as, implement goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and payroll.
? Manage the preparation of various financial statements and reports and review with
management.
? Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and
expenditures.
? Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
? Oversee the preparation of economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.
? Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
? Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.
? Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
? Direct the installation and maintenance of new accounting, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
? Mentor the assigned team by establishing and implementing performance measures that comply with internal and external standards.
? Participate as a team member, support the company mission and vision and contribute to the pursuit of the company's goals.
? Ensure development of the finance team as a priority and provide the required level of leadership in ensuring individual and team goals are achieved.
? Adhere to set safety standards.
? Achieve expected performance measures.
? Consolidate financial statements for US and UK. Provide financial analysis for combined statements and recommendation for improvement.
? Establish guideline for intercompany revenue and costs.
? Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
? Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
? 8 - 10 years in experience in Accounting, Finance
? Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and negotiate and meet critical timelines.
? Excellent oral and written communication is required to communicate with the team, peers, management and external contacts.
? Excellent technology skills, including proficiency with Excel and strong working knowledge of SAP, database applications and other Microsoft Office Products, such as Word, Project and Power Point, ERP systems experience is preferred.
